Exporting

Getting the takeoff out as a spreadsheet, and what each column holds.

Export, on the Materials panel, writes the takeoff to Excel or CSV - one row per item, for pricing or for handing on.

The columns

Column	What it holds
Code	The bid item code.
Name	The item's name.
Type	Area, Length or Count.
Unit	The reporting unit.
BaseQty	What was measured, in the geometry's base unit, before conversion.
UnitFactor	The conversion from base to the reporting unit.
Mult	The item's multiplier.
FinalQty	The quantity as reported.
BidQty	The plan quantity from the bid schedule.
UnitPrice	The unit price.
Amount	Quantity times price.
Page	The sheet.
Layer	The layer.
Depth	The recorded depth.
Pitch	The drawing's pitch.
Color	The item's colour.
Notes	Free text.

Breaking the quantity into BaseQty, UnitFactor, Mult and FinalQty is deliberate: whoever reads the spreadsheet can see where a number came from instead of being handed a total to take on trust.

Notes

Depth is carried through but never drives a quantity. A volume unit gets its depth from the unit calculator, not from this column, so a Depth here that disagrees with the calculator does not change FinalQty.
Included children export as their own rows. Columns that only mean something on a measured item, Depth among them, are blank on an inclusion row.
