Utilities Takeoff

Taking off pipe runs and structures, with inverts, slopes and trench excavation.

Utilities Takeoff measures underground work: runs of pipe between structures, with the inverts and slopes that make a gravity system work and the excavation that goes with it.

It is a different model from Materials. A materials drawing measures a shape; a utility run connects two structures and carries depth, so the same drawing yields pipe length, cut, bedding and trench in one pass.

Open the panel from View > Panels > Utilities. Utilities is part of the paid feature set, so the panel appears only where your subscription includes it; the trial includes it in full.

The shape of it

• A system holds the runs you draw - storm, sanitary, water. Pick the system before you draw; runs land in it.
• A stage is job-wide, for phasing.
• Pipes and structures are the catalog you draw with: the schedule of what this job uses.
• A run is one pipe between two structures.
