Line

A straight segment between two points, with either end configurable.

The Line draws one straight segment. It is the base of the linear family: an Arrow is a Line that starts with a head on it, and a Polyline is a Line that keeps going.

Draw it: press at one end, drag to the other, release.

Settings

• Thickness: 1 to 20, default 2.
• Colour: the segment and its ends.
• Opacity: available, and applies to the segment and its ends together.
• Start ending / End ending: set independently. A Line starts bare at both ends.

Ending styles

Nine, for either end: none, open arrow, closed arrow, reversed open, reversed closed, diamond, circle, square, slash. Head size follows Thickness, so a heavier line gets a proportionally heavier head rather than the same small glyph on a thicker stem.

Notes

• A click with no drag places a line only when the armed tool came from the Tool Chest and has a placement size saved on it. The standard toolbar Line has none, so a click with no drag draws nothing.
