Sticky Note

A small note icon on the sheet; the comment opens when you want it.

A Sticky Note is a comment that does not take up room. It places as a small icon and holds text read on demand, so a sheet can carry a dozen without any of the drawing disappearing underneath. That makes it right for something addressed to a person rather than to the sheet: a question for the designer, a reminder to check a quantity.

Place it: click where the note belongs, then type. The icon places on the click and the editor opens on the same gesture.

Settings

• Size: 1 to 20, default 10. How large the icon sits on the sheet, not how much text it holds.
• Colour: the icon. Default gold.

Notes

• The icon is born upright however the page is rotated.
• Size the icon for the zoom the sheet is reviewed at, not the zoom you are placing at. A note placed while zoomed into a detail can be invisible at full-sheet zoom, which defeats the point of a marker someone else is meant to find.

If the comment has to be legible without opening anything, it wants a Text Box or a Callout. A sticky note is deliberately quiet.
