Click anywhere and type. The note sits on the sheet in its own box.
The Text Box puts typed text directly on the sheet, for a note that belongs to a place on the
drawing but does not need to point at anything: a revision note in the margin, a quantity beside an
area, an instruction over a detail.
Place it: click where the text should start, then type. It places on a single click and opens
its editor there, so there is no box to drag out first. The cursor is an I-beam while the tool is
armed.
Settings
Border: 1 to 10. Outline weight.
Colour: the border.
Fill: the box background. Leave it clear to let the drawing through, or fill it to blank out what is behind the note.
Font size: default 18.
Font colour: a separate channel from the border colour.
Corner radius: rounds the box corners.
Padding: the gap between the text and the border.
Notes
The default border is a thin dashed outline drawn at a fixed weight, not off the Border slider, which is what keeps it a hairline hint around the text instead of a frame competing with it.
The box is born upright however the page is rotated, so a note on a rotated sheet reads the right way up rather than sideways with the drawing.
