A wide translucent band swept over an area, without hiding what is under it.
The Highlighter sweeps a wide translucent band across the sheet. It is the only ink tool that
starts translucent, so what it covers still reads through it. Use it to flag a run, a schedule row
or a note to come back to.
Draw it: press at one end of the run, drag along it, release. The cursor is a circle sized to
the band.
Settings
Width: 5 to 50, default 20. The floor is deliberately high: a five-point highlight is thinner than most text it would cover, and at that size the Marker is the tool being asked for.
Colour: default a translucent yellow. Changing the colour keeps that translucency, so picking green or pink gives another highlighter rather than a solid band.
Opacity: available, and separate from the colour's own transparency. Dropping it on an already translucent colour fades fast, so move it in small steps.
Notes
Ends are cut square, so a highlight that stops mid-run stops cleanly rather than tapering.
Of the four ink tools the Highlighter is smoothed the most. At twenty points wide the hand wobble in a swept line is invisible inside the band, and smoothing it is what keeps the two edges parallel.
